Prof. Partsch, Hugo University of Vienna, Austria Hugo Partsch is Emeritus Professor of Dermatology at the University of Vienna, Austria. He graduated from the University of Vienna’s School of Medicine , acquired a specialtisation for Dermatology and Angiology and was appointed Head of the Vascular Service, Hanusch-Hospital, Vienna for seven years, before transferring to Wilhelminen-Hospital, Vienna, where he has been Head of the Dermatological Department for 13 years. Professor Partsch’s main clinical and research interests are peripheral vascular diseases, instrumental methodology (nuclear medical methods, non-invasive investigations, indirect lymphography), neuropathic foot, lymphoedema, deep vein thrombosis and leg-ulcers. He has published over 360 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has made contributions to several books. Professor Partsch is an honorary member of several international vascular societies, and a member of editorial boards for some dermatological and vascular journals. He was President of the Austrian Society of Angiology during 1995/96 and has been President of the International Union of Phlebology between 1999 and 2003. He founded the International Compression Club (ICC) 2005. |

Dr. Benigni, Jean-Patrick Dr Jean-Patrick Benigni was born and grew up in Paris (France). He earned a Medical Doctorate at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris (France). A point of interest : he has an extensive professional experience (medical and industrial). After a first experience as a general practitioner in France, he practised in East Africa as a medical director for 3 years. He has a 16 year medical practice in phlebology. He has also a 12 year experience in the pharmaceutical industry in medical, sales and marketing management. Starting his career in clinical development with MSD then with Ipsen-Beaufour in a marketing job. As a division manager with Abbott and Searle as a marketing director, he acquired an good expertise in business development and management of a subsidiary of an international company. Member of several Vascular Medicine Societies and in particular the International Compression Club, he has been working in clinical application of compression devices. For this reason, he was appointed in 2004 to the Haute Autorité de Santé as an expert for the evaluation of compression devices. |

Nick Morrison, MD, FACS, FACPh Dr. Nick Morrison is the founder and Medical Director of Morrison Training Institute and the Morrison Vein Institute. He received a Jesuit education, including the Creighton University School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1972, and completed a four-year General Surgery Residency at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He maintained a private general surgical practice for 23 years, and in 1996, Dr. Morrison and his wife, Terri, established the Morrison Vein Institute. Since that time, Dr. Morrison has concentrated his surgical practice on the care and treatment of venous disorders. He has become involved in all aspects of vein care, including duplex scanning, visual sclerotherapy, laser/pulsed light therapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, and endovenous thermal and chemical ablation (radiofrequency, lasers of various wavelengths, and foamed sclerosants). He is the Immediate Past-President of the American College of Phlebology, Chairman of the American College of Phlebology Foundation Board of Directors, and Vice-President of the International Union of Phlebology. He has authored several book chapters on varying aspects of venous disease, and additionally has published scientific articles in the phlebologic literature. Beginning in 1989, and annually since, Dr. Morrison has directed a medical volunteer organization, Amigos de Salud, and led the group each summer to Central or South America to bring medical and surgical treatment to the indigent populations of Ecuador, Peru, and Nicaragua. Prof Mortimer, Peter Peter Mortimer is Professor of Dermatological Medicine to the University of London at St George’s Hospital Medical School. Trained in Dermatology in Oxford, UK he was appointed Consultant Dermatologist to both St George’s Hospital, London and the Royal Marsden Hospital, London and Sutton in 1986. Professor Mortimer’s main clinical and research interest is in Lymphovascular Medicine which deals with the clinical consequences of lymphatic dysfunction and failure. The main areas of research are:- 1. The genetic basis of lymphoedema. 2. The pathophysiology of breast cancer related lymphoedema 3. Lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic function in melanoma. He has over 200 original publications cited on PubMed. |

Gyozo Szolnoky MD, PhD Gyozo Szolnoky was born in 1971 and is currently an Assistant Professor of the Department of Dermatology and Allergology at the University of Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Szolnoky’s main fields of research interest comprise lipoedema and general lymphology, venous leg ulcer healing, infection control and their immunological backgrounds. He has been awarded by the 2011 UIP-Servier research fellowship. Dr. Szolnoky is a member of several international and hungarian vascular and dermatological societies and one of the founders of Balkan Venous Forum. |
